Nether Post is my original project, set in a Chinese mythical world inspired by the aesthetics of the "Republic of China" era (around late 1800s - early 1900s) and the Chinese traditional myth of the Underworld.
Nether Post is a magical newspaper shop beside the River Nai in the Underworld. Under the rules of Underworld, those who have suicided and lost their hope in life are not allowed into the next life cycle. Officer Lin is one of these people, and as he was about to drink Warden Meng's memory-forgetting coffee, he came across the Nether Post and its owner, Mr. Du. With his help, Officer Lin must adventure in the Underworld and the Memory Realm to reconcile with himself.
It brings me a lot of joy in working with elements from my culture. Various aspects of the Chinese culture is becoming more popular in entertainment, but there is still so much more to explore of it. I like to give it my own twist, creating something unique with things that may be already familiar.
I am also interested in 3D modeling, using softwares including Blender and Zbrush, to help the creation of certain designs.
For Nether Post, I decided to model and 3D print the Canned Spirits, bringing the little creatures to life.
